Job Description |
ATIO is running a project in Namibia in order to conduct GSM/3G network quality testing and optimization. This project will involve drive-testing of a mobile network in Namibia, analyzing of test results, and taking of corrective action where necessary to improve network quality. The drive test technicians (DTT) are junior technical staff with recent certification in IT skills and little work experience. This opportunity will pay a modest salary but will provide a unique opportunity to expose these staff to mobile telecommunications technology. ATIO will train these staff in the necessary tools and methodologies required to complete the work. The DTTs will conduct testing and measurement mainly in Windhoek but will also be required to travel across Namibia to conduct testing in other remote areas. The opportunity may exists for successful candidates to be redeployed after the contract period, to other SADC Countries for similar projects. |

The following are the main duties |
|
1 . Appointees will be based in Windhoek but will also conduct network drive testing in vehicles in remote towns in Namibia for part of the project period, requiring overnight stays away from Windhoek |
|
2 . Appointees will be responsible for conducting mobile network (GSM and 3G) voice and data testing according to a define methodology. |
|
3 . All testing will require the use of an ATIO-provided test tool. ATIO will provide training on this tool. |
|
4 . Testing will generate extensive log file data. It will be the responsibility of the DTT to ensure this data is correctly collected, backed up and sent back to the central team in Windhoek. This pr |

5 . The appointees will have the willingness and ability to learn new concepts and software/hardware applications quickly. |
|
6 . The appointees will be comfortable conducting drive testing in a vehicle for up to 8 hours per day. |
